Weigao Group (formerly known as Weihai State-owned Medical Apparatus Factory First Branch) was founded and mainly engaged in manufacturing disposable sterile infusion sets.
● In Oct. 1989
The factory was renamed Weihai Medical Polymer Products General Factory, expanded rapidly in the following 4 years, becoming a large national enterprise with 6 branches and extending its product line to disposable medical devices and hygienic materials, such as disposable infusion sets, injector, blood transfusion apparatus, plastic blood bags, PVC granules, health mattresses, etc.
● In Sep. 1998
The enterprise was restructured and renamed as Weihai Medical Polymer Co., Ltd., established sales network throughout the country, and sold products to more than 20 countries and regions. And its products were expanded to 27 categories.
● In Nov. 2000
It was renamed as Shandong Weigao Group Co., Ltd., and was identified as "Achievements Industrialization Base of National High Technology Research and Development (863) Plan" in the same year, and as "Key High-tech Enterprise of National Torch Plan" in the following year. And it set up Shandong Weigao Group Medical Polymer Co., Ltd.
● In Feb. 2004
Shandong Weigao Group Medical Polymer Co., Ltd. was successfully listed on GEM of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (Stock Code 8199), thus entering the international capital market as the first overseas listed company in Weihai.
● In July 2004
Approved by the State Administration for Industry and Commerce, the company changed name to Weigao Group Co., Ltd., and became a national enterprise group. Leaders like Hu Jintao, Wu Bangguo, Wu Guanzheng, Luo Gan etc. successively paid visits to the company.
● In June 2005
"Jierui" trademark was identified as "Chinese Famous Trademark" by the State Administration for Industry and Commerce, becoming the first well-known trademark in China's medical devices industry.
● In Sep. 2006
Jierui Disposable Sterile Infusion Devices were rated as "China Famous Products" by the State General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ). And the company's Technology Center was recognized as "National Enterprise Technology Center".
● In Dec. 2007
Weigao Group signed an agreement with U.S. Medtronic, one of Fortune 500, to establish a strategic partnership and conduct extensive in-depth cooperation in the field of orthopedic materials.
